Who is he this Jesus?

If you don't get Jesus right..... nothing else matters

Many people never find an answer for the question: who is this Jesus?

Here is a good thought reposted from a comment on the devotional Web site Our Daily Bread:

Roy wrote this as a Christmas Carol but one that points to Jesus final coming in the power that perhaps some people miss in the image of a little baby!

Why did you come as a Baby,
And not as the King that You are?
You are the Way the Truth and the Life,
Your light drew wise men from afar.

Life in the womb of a virgin,
Alone by the Spirit’s command.
Revealed in Your Birth, God’s answer for earth.
Not found in the plans of man!

Chorus
Not like this the next time,
But by trumpet sound
Then returned in Glory,
We clearly see Your Crown.

Joseph’s faithful obedience,
A mystery he can’t understand.
His love for God and the promise declared
Has placed him in Gods Glorious Plan

The gentle light in a stable
Would one day reveal all our sin
No Babe in a shed, a Savior instead,
This one who is truly our King

Life is a jumble these days; too fast, too tense, too stressful, too much information, and too uncertain.

We all long for something that will help us put our lives in order.

The answer is Jesus Christ and the Cross.

The manger in Bethlehem is a good place to start and the Cross where this child would die for you some 30 years later is the answer.

About Your Salvation

Your Salvation
God says that none are good in his eyes.
Romans 3:10
“There is none righteous no not one.”
None of us as we are, are acceptable to God.

God says that all are sinners.
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”
All of us regardless of place in life need God’s forgiveness.

God Gives us the way
Romans 10: 9-10
“That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Christ from the dead, you shall be saved.  (10) For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

To confess simply means to agree that you are a sinner and that Jesus alone was your substitute in death on the cross.

To believe in your heart means to make a commitment of yourself to the living Christ as your hope for eternal life.

A simple prayer for salvation:
Dear Lord:
I am sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day  to save me from my sins.
Please forgive me of all my sins and come into my heart and save me.
I accept you now as my Lord and savior.
Thank you Lord for saving me today
In Jesus name I pray
Amen.

Below are three of the many things you gain access to as you start your walk with Jesus.
Grace is what our holy God gives us that we, as sinful people, don’t deserve.
In Acts 17:25 we learn the “He gives to all life, breath and all things”. His Gifts include our very next breath.
Even in our darkest hour, strength is given so we can endure.

Mercy is what God withholds that we do deserve.
In Lamentations 3:22 we read, Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed.
Even when we are wayward, God gives time and help for us to turn back to him.

Peace is what God brings to his people.
Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you” (John 14:27).
Even in the worst of times we can have inner tranquility because our God is in control.

May God bless you.

Prayer is the Soul's Sincere Desire by James Montgomery

Prayer is the soul's sincere desire,
unuttered or expressed,
the motion of a hidden fire
that trembles in the breast.
Prayer is the burden of a sigh,
the falling of a tear,
the upward glancing of an eye,
when none but God is near.
Prayer is the simplest form of speech
that infant lips can try;
prayer the sublimest strains that reach
the Majesty on high.
Prayer is the contrite sinners' voice,
returning from their way,
while angels in their songs rejoice
and cry, "Behold, they pray!"
Prayer is the Christians' vital breath,
the Christians' native air;
their watchword at the gates of death;
they enter heaven with prayer.
O Thou, by whom we come to God,
the Life, the Truth, the Way:
the path of prayer thyself hast trod;
Lord, teach us how to pray!

Poems For You - The Apple

The apple from the tree became the death of me;
From that sin I cannot myself escape;
Like drowning in the sea;
My life without Christ I cannot make. -- Webb
